Compaq settles trade secrets dispute

OUT-LAW News, 17/04/2001

Compaq has settled a dispute with RLX Technologies, a Texas server manufacturer sued by the computer giant in February alleging misappropriation of trade secrets, propriety information and unfair competition. The companies are keeping the terms of the settlement confidential.

Compaq sued RLX after it recruited Compaq executives and, according to the lawsuit, they improperly divulged Compaq’s design secrets relating to highly efficient, so-called “ultradense,” servers.

Both companies are due to release these products later this year, which are expected to accommodate more than three times current processing power in limited space.
