Dubbed the European Network and Information Security Agency
(ENISA), the European Commission says it will represent the first
systematic cross-border co-operation and information exchange
between the EU Member States.
Its tasks will include advising Member States and the Commission
on security issues and raise awareness of the issues among
individuals and businesses.
ENISA is expected to start operations at the beginning of 2004,
and will be based temporarily in Brussels.
