When the web site was launched in the UK on 5th May it generated
over 400,000 hits within its first four weeks.
And now the Hong Kong office of Masons, the law firm behind the
OUT-LAW.COM service, is rolling out the new initiative, set up to
provide a tailored and user friendly service to new media and
e-commerce businesses. The web site now offers business guides for
users based on a choice of either UK or Hong Kong law.
John Salmon of Masons’ Glasgow office, who helped set up the new
service, said:
“New economy companies face major business
risks unless they properly address the legal aspects of their
operations, from copyright and intellectual property to employment
and domain names.
“The response to out-law.com from internet,
telecoms, IT and other businesses has been phenomenal. Word has
spread amongst a range of new economy communities and the fact that
so many companies are contacting us has prompted us to bring
forward the roll-out from our Hong Kong office.”
